Supporting Local Charities
Community PedsCare® is a pediatric palliative and hospice program for children with life threatening conditions. Community PedsCare brings comfort and care to enhance quality of life for patients from prenatal (before birth) to age 21 in the five-county Northeast Florida area…supporting children’s parents, siblings, other family, caregivers, classmates, and teachers.
The history of pediatric palliative care in Jacksonville, Florida, began with the establishment of the Community PedsCare program in 2001 by Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. This program was created to provide comprehensive, community-based palliative and end-of-life care to children with complex, life-threatening conditions and their families. It was developed in collaboration with Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Nemours Children’s Clinic, and the University of Florida, and has since been recognized for its quality and has expanded its services to North Central Florida.
The Foundation of Community Hospice & Palliative Care generates philanthropic and community support for patient care services, family needs, and community programs.
